The partnership will award up to $2 million total to the grant recipients.
The Rainwater Charitable Foundation was founded by Texas billionaire Richard Rainwater in 1991. In 2009, the foundation created the Tau Consortium as a dedicated medical research program after Mr. Rainwater was diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). Sadly, Mr. Rainwater passed away from PSP complications in 2015, but the RCF has continued to privately fund over $130 million worth of neurodegenerative disease research. The RCF strives to convene and support the top Alzheimer’s and dementia researchers in the world through programs like the Tau Consortium, the Rainwater Prize Program, and the newly launched Tauopathy Challenge Workshop. The Aging Mind Foundation A Night to Remember Gala will take place at the Thompson Hotel. The evening will kick off with a cocktail reception at 6 pm. About Aging Mind Foundation
Since 2013, Aging Mind Foundation (AMF) has raised money to fund medical research that seeks the cause of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Founders Laree Hulshoff and Bill Booziotis watched close friends suffer and ultimately succumb to the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease. They saw firsthand the way this incredibly cruel disease takes a toll on not only the individuals afflicted, but also on their caretakers and families. Laree and Bill came together to fundraise for the Center for Vital Longevity (CVL) at UT Dallas, a Dallas-based research center where scientists study the cognitive neuroscience of aging. The result of Laree and Bill’s efforts was an incredible fundraiser that honored Dallas’ beloved Bob Wilson, father of Luke, Owen and Andrew Wilson. The Dallas Foundation is the Fiscal Sponsor of Aging Mind Foundation, a component fund of the Dallas Foundation a 501(c)(3), publicly supported charity, 75-289 0371/ For more information about Aging Mind Foundation, please call 214.218.2050 or visit their website at AgingMindFoundation.org.
